Report a ‘View Once’ photo or video on your Android device

1.

Go to the WhatsApp chat from which you have received a ‘View Once’ media.

2.

Open the ‘View Once’ media.

3.

Tap on the three-dot menu option (More) available on the top right corner of the screen.

4.

Select the Report Contact or the Report unknown user option.



Report a View Once photo or video on iPhone

1.

Head to the WhatsApp chat who has sent you the ‘View Once’ media.

2.

Open the ‘View Once’ photo or video.

3.

Tap on the three-dot menu button (More) available in the bottom corner of the screen.

4.

Tap on the Report Contact or the Report unknown user option.

After the user has been reported, WhatsApp will receive the media and either take appropriate action against the user or may ban the reported user’s WhatsApp account.

It is advised that you share photos or videos with ‘View Once’ media enabled with people you can trust because the shared media contains private information. In order to increase user privacy, WhatsApp has updated its ‘View Once’ feature to prevent recipients from taking screenshots or screen recordings of the sent media. Additionally, the recipient can delete the ‘View Once’ media after it has been opened.
