Maruti launched the 5-door Jimny last year, and a small section of car enthusiasts were happy about it. The expensive price tag, however, made many people look away from the product. However, there were a decent number of people who have bought this SUV and are happy with it. Many of them have even got the SUV modified to their liking. One of the popular types of modification with the Jimny is the G-Wagen conversion. The body kits for the 5-door Jimny have also started to arrive in the market, and here we have one such video where a Jimny has been converted into a G-Wagen inside-out.

The video has been shared by VikFlickTv on their YouTube channel. In this video, the customer had dropped the car at a workshop in Delhi, and all he wanted was to convert the Jimny to a mini G-Wagen. The whole conversion project took around a month’s time.

The workshop completely removed the floor mats and seats. They also removed the door pads as they wanted to start by damping the car. They used around 40 sheets on the floors and doors.

Once damping was done, they removed the exterior panels like the front grille, headlamps, bonnet, fenders, rear bumper, front bumper, and wheels. All these panels were replaced with a genuine G-Wagen kit for Jimny. The customer wanted a matte finish for the finished product, and that was also considered.

After installing the G-Wagen kit, the whole car was painted in a matte black shade. It is a peelable paint, which means if the customer wants, he can easily peel off the paint without harming the stock paint underneath. The car was also given a G-Wagen-like plastic cladding on the fender and doors.

The wheel size remains the same, and the approximate cost of the new alloy wheels was around Rs 1 lakh. There are roof-mounted lamps and a sporty-looking spoiler at the back as well. The ORVMs have also been replaced with G-Wagen-like units.

Many of the plastic panels get a forged carbon fiber finish. The interior of the car gets a Red and Black theme. The AC vents are now G-Wagen-like, and there are ambient lights on the footwell area and the center console.

The audio system on this Jimny has also been upgraded. Some of the plastic panels on the dashboard are painted Red, while others are finished in gloss black or matte black. Carbon fiber inserts can be seen here as well.

Other than these modifications, the original exhaust of the Jimny has also been modified. It now gets a valvetronic exhaust, and the exhaust tips pop out from the side just like in the original G63 AMG. The air filter on this SUV has also been upgraded.

The vlogger mentions that the cost of the Jimny to G-Wagen conversion, including the matte black peelable paint and exhaust, costs around Rs 6.5 lakh. The interior painting and customization costs around Rs 1.75 lakh. As mentioned above, the cost of new alloy wheels and the tires is approximately Rs 1 lakh.
