At last, Instagram remembers that it is a photo-sharing app, or at least it used to be. And for those who still share photos, Instagram has some new filters, yes, no longer just playing around with Clarendon, Lark, or Juno.

“It’s been a long time since we have updated the filters for Feed Photos. So we’re adding new filters with cool and warm modes for each,” said Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, in a Reel.

With the new filters, users have a variety of options to experiment with different looks for their posts, ranging from subtle colour edits to expressive styles. You can use a slider to adjust the intensity of any filter as usual. Unlike before, there are some new filters, such as “wide angle” and “wavy,” that just do not change the colour and tone of the picture. There are other filters like “colour leak” and “zoom blur” that you can try out.

Here are all the new filters that are coming to Instagram.

New features for Reels, and an AI sticker creator
For those who post Reels, new editing tools are coming soon that will allow creators to zoom, rotate, and crop individual clips in their reels. Instagram is also working on implementing undo and redo features, which will be rolled out soon. Furthermore, creators in select countries will have access to 10 new English text-to-speech voices, including “Megaphone,” “Monster,” and “Radio.” There is also a revamped drafts view, and faster access to the audio page, among the changes for creators.

Instagram is also experimenting with a new feature that allows users to create custom stickers using their photos and videos from their camera roll or eligible photos and videos on Instagram. The company revealed that this feature is based on the learnings from its Segment Anything AI model, however, there is no information available yet on how it is being utilised in this particular feature.
